Planning and resident feedback opportunities for Downtown Allen revitalization are in the final stages. Based on public feedback collected, the project consultant prepared three possible scenarios for future development. Scenarios were presented during three public meetings in April.
In April, Allen City Council approved a bond sale to include $13,614,000 for Phase 2 of the library expansion. The bond sale also provides for improvements to the City’s park system, transportation infrastructure and fire services. Funds were authorized by Allen voters in the 2016 General Obligation Bond Election.

VIDEO: Inspecting over 600 miles of Allen
This year Allen City Council authorized the expense to hire a company that will drive every street and alley in our community - over 600 miles - to develop a surface condition assessment. The data will assist City staff with future decisions regarding pavement replacement and maintenance expenses for years to come. The research is made possible with the use of federal funds.
