The Finance Department is responsible for planning and maintaining the City's financial health through oversight of the Accounting Division, Budget Division, Purchasing Division and Municipal Court. 

Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Proposed Budget

The 2021-2022 Proposed Budget was presented to City Council on July 27. Following the City Council budget workshop Aug. 13-15, the proposed budget was modified and presented to City Council on Sept. 14 for adoption.

Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Annual Budget

For the 22nd consecutive year, the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) awarded the City with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its Fiscal Year 2020-2021 budget document. The GFOA administers the only national awards program for governmental budgeting.

The award reflects the commitment of Allen City Council and City staff to meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting. In order to receive the budget award, the City of Allen must satisfy nationally-recognized guidelines for an effective budget presentation. The guidelines are designed to assess how well an entity’s budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device.
